The Rome Floyd Chamber is seeking to brand the community as focused on digital-age technologies.

The focus of the chamber’s All Things Digital campaign is to bring high-tech jobs to the area and can be traced to roots with the Chamber Technology Square Table, Confluence and Geek Week initiatives.

“All Things Digital is an outgrowth of our RomeFloyd 20/20 economic development blueprint,” said John Quinlivan, chairman of the Rome Floyd Chamber and CEO of Redmond Regional Medical Center in a press release. “It highlights the many high-tech industries, IT and automation capabilities in our region and the opportunities for growth in these areas.”

According to a press release, the initiative seeks to capitalize on what the community already has — healthcare related information systems, unique film opportunities and the presence of four institutions of higher learning to create more high-tech, high-paying jobs.

“Rome and Floyd County strives to diversify the economy,” said Rhonda Wallace, chair of the Floyd County Commission and vice president of Synovus Bank. “The All Things Digital initiative works to promote a diverse workforce and economy in this digital age.”

“Our community is positioned to accelerate positive trends of seeing more startups and growing existing businesses,” said Mayor Jamie Doss.
