Man tells dog to shut up, owner pulls gun

Two men reported to police that a man at a Lindale home pointed a gun at them after one of them told the man’s dog to shut up as they were walking by.

According to Floyd County police reports:

Police spoke with the men at Mill Store Laundry on Park Avenue on Thursday night around 9:43 p.m. The men had been walking down Teat Street when a pit bull started barking at them, prompting the comment from one of the men. The dog’s owner came out and pointed the gun at them.

Two officers went to the house but were only able to get two pit bulls to come to the door.

Report: Inmate tried to get pot, heroin

A Cataula man was in jail without bond on Friday night after being accused of arranging for a woman to bring him marijuana and heroin to his work detail.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Xavier Vandre Cannon, 32, of Cataula, was arrested Friday. On May 24, he was with his Floyd County Prison work detail at Club View Drive when a woman delivered the drugs to him.

He is charged with felony items prohibited for possession by inmates.

Cedartown woman faces meth charges

A Cedartown woman was in jail without bond Friday night after police reportedly found two bags of methamphet­amine in her car.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Leticia Michele Trapp, 42, 2587 Buchanan Highway, was arrested just before 9 a.m. Friday. She was pulled over on U.S. 27 and Sanders Avenue around 8:25 a.m. after being spotted driving 71 mph in a 55 mph zone. She was driving on a suspended license and an expired registrati­on.

After consenting to a search of the vehicle, police found the meth, along with a syringe, several pipes and a white powdered substance.

Trapp is charged with felony possession of meth and possession of meth with intent to distribute. She is additional­ly charged with misdemeano­r possession of marijuana less than an ounce, possession of drugrelate­d objects, driving while license suspended, driving on an expired tag and speeding in excess of maximum limits.
