Harbin Clinic will host Walk With a Doc Sept. 16 at 9 a.m. The event provides an opportunit­y to exercise and hear health and fitness advice from a Harbin Clinic physician. The walk leaves from Bridgepoin­t Plaza, follows the Kingfisher Trail and is approximat­ely two miles. People of all fitness levels are encouraged to participat­e. Harbin Clinic Radiation Oncologist Dr. JC Abdou is set to lead the group. Check Harbin Clinic’s website, Facebook and Twitter for updates in case of inclement weather. The 10th annual Rome Beer Festival, presented by The Foundry Growler Station, will be held at Heritage Park behind the levee, on Sept. 16 from 1-5 p.m. The event will showcase 150 beers from around the world as well as local artists, vendors and live music. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Rome Area Council for the Arts. The event is for ages 21 and older. No pets allowed. All attendees must present a valid ID for entry. Floyd County Environmen­tal Health, Floyd County Animal Control, Mount Berry Animal Hospital, West Rome Animal Clinic and East Rome Animal Clinic will conduct a rabies vaccinatio­n

clinic for cats and dogs Sept. 16 from 1-4 p.m. in the parking lot of the Floyd County Health Department, 16 E. 12th St. Animals must be healthy, at least 12 weeks of age and on a leash or in a pet carrier. Cost for the rabies vaccinatio­n is $10 each. For more informatio­n call 706-295-6316.

The Friends of the Library Used Book Sale will be held Sept. 16-23 at the Rome-Floyd County Library, 205 Riverside Parkway. All proceeds will benefit the library and the Friends of the Library. A preview sale will be held Sept. 16 from 10 a.m.4:30 p.m. for members of the Friends of the Library. Tickets for nonmembers may be purchased for $5. The book sale hours will be 9 a.m.-8 p.m. on Sept. 1821, 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on Sept. 22-23, and 1-5 p.m. on Sept. 17.
