Rome Beer Fest returns to Heritage Park Sept. 24, tickets available now

-

Art, music and beer lovers from across Northwest Georgia will descend on Rome on Saturday, Sept. 24, for RACA’s annual Rome Beer Fest along the Coosa River at Heritage Park from 1-5 p.m.

This year’s festival is hosted by the Rome Area Council for the Arts in partnership with The Foundry, a new craft beer and growler station opening soon in Rome’s River District on Fifth Avenue.

Now in its 9th year, Rome Beer Fest is listed as one of Explore Georgia’s “Top 20 Autumn Beer Festivals.” Guests at the event will choose from over 120 different beers to sample while they enjoy live musical performances by Jason Smith, The Donors, The Briars, and My Ninja.

Guests can also enjoy food from local vendors, Speakcheesy and Mellow Mushroom.

Two important art experiences are returning to the festival. Both the Rome Knitterati’s beer-themed yarn creations and the 3rd annual The Foundry, a new craft beer and growler station opening soon, is partnering with RACA to present Rome Beer Fest 2017.

Homebrew Competition designed to celebrate the art of beer-making.

“Every year the event grows, and this year is no exception,” said RACA Director Rainey Campbell. “We are incredibly excited about the addition of the River Dog Brews Cruise that will provide a more intimate experience for VIP+ patrons with a beer tasting featuring SweetWater Brewery and brunch provided by La Scala Mediterranean Bistro aboard the Roman Holiday.”

Also new this year is an interactive art experience of “face-in-the-hole” murals created by three local artists in the theme of “Art, Beer & Rock ‘n Roll” inspired by the decade RACA was founded and in celebration of its 40th year. The event will also host a select, beer-themed silent auction.

Tickets to Rome Beer Fest start at $35 in advance for general admission, and $40 at the door. VIP tickets are $65 and include early entry to the event, a merchandise voucher and access to special beers. VIP+ River Cruise tickets are $100 and are expected to sell out quickly.
