MODEL FIRST RESPONDERS NIGHT — The Model High School Band is sponsoring First Responders Night at the Model home football game against Dade County on Friday. Kick off is at 7:30 p.m. All first responders will get free admission and a food ticket if they attend the game either in uniform or with their specific ID card. First responders can also register to win a weekend getaway to Lake Allatoona.

UNITY FUN RUN 5K — Metropolitan United Methodist Church will have a Unity Fun Run 5K and 1-mile walk on Oct. 8 at 8 a.m. beginning at the church, 700 Broad St. The cost is $25 for adults and $15 for youth and includes a race T-shirt if registered by Sept. 30. The cost will be $30 for adults and $20 for children on the day of the race. There will be refreshments and prizes. Early packet pick-up will be at the church Oct. 7 from 6 to 8 p. m. HALL OF FAME GOLF TOURNAMENT — The Willard Nixon Sports Hall of Fame Golf Tournament will be Oct. 27 at Stonebridge Golf Course to benefit the John Pinson Jr. Student Athlete Award Scholarship Program sponsored by the RomeFloyd Sports Hall of Fame. Team entry is $300 and covers green fees, cart fees, range balls and lunch for a team of four. Hole sponsorships are also available.
