Mrs. Willie Ruth Starling, 75, of Rome, Georgia passed away Monday, September 18, 2017, at Redmond Medical Center.

Services for Mrs. Willie R. Starling will be held Sunday, September 24, 2017, at 3:00 p.m. CST at St. Mary’s United Methodist Church, 620 W. Main Street, Centre, Ala. 35960. She will lie in-state from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of service. Interment will follow the service at Kirks Grove Cemetery, state line, Centre, Ala.

Demolition of a dilapidated home on North Main Street in Adairsville is moving forward. City crews are trying to clear the property and put down a rock base for additional parking for the annual Great Locomotive Chase Festival which starts Friday.
