- Funeral Home, West Chatham Chapel Mrs. Mabel Nora Seckinger Hodge

Mrs. Mabel Nora Seckinger Hodge, 91, of Savannah, passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2017.

Mrs. Mabel was born in Rincon to the late Lester E. and Nora G. Seckinger. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Albert M. Hodge, daughter, Marsha, brothers, Charles, Rupert and David Wertz and sister, Ida Oglesby. She worked for Union Camp (now Internatio­nal Paper) in Garden City. She helped many, including family, extended family, and friends. She was a member of Risen Savior Lutheran Church and was always participat­ed in church, taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and Luther League.

Survivors include her daughter, Debra Darlene Hodge; son, Albert Mallard Hodge, Jr. (Cheryl); sister, Mildred S. Burgstiner; granddaugh­ters, Stephanie Crow Brummett (Trent), Brentleigh Crow, and Marie Hodge Gordon (Michael); great-grandchild­ren, Savannah, Ryleigh, Libby, and Matthew.

The visitation will be on Monday, October 2, 2017, at Risen Savior Lutheran Church from 12 until 2 p.m. with the funeral to follow at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Jerusalem Lutheran Church Cemetery in Effingham County.
