The Floyd County Republican Women will meet for lunch on Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at Red Lobster, 700 Shorter Ave. The candidates for City Commission, Sue Lee, Jamie Doss, Randy Quick, Wendy Davis, Monica Sheppard and Bill Kerestes will be the guest speakers. Attendees are asked to bring diapers for donation to Good Neighbors Ministries.

Rome Seven Hills Rotary will meet at noon on Tuesday at Coosa Country Club, 110 Branham Ave. Dr. Hunter Edwards and his wife will share experience­s from their travels to Africa to provide dental care.

The Rome affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness will hold its annual candleligh­t service as part of Mental Illness Awareness Week on Tuesday from 7-8 p.m. at West Rome Baptist Church, 914 Shorter Ave.

The Floyd County Farmers Market at Ridge Ferry Park will continue for a file Wednesday and Saturday from 7 to 11:30 a.m. to end the summer market season. Items for sale will include fresh vegetables, canned goods, jellies and jams, and craft items. The cost for vendors is $7 per space, which is due upon arrival. For any questions
