What is the primary purpose of your business? To help the people of Rome and Northwest Georgia find the vehicle that suits their needs at a price they can afford.
What is the business background of the owners? My career started over 20 years ago with Wayne Blackwood FordLincoln-Mercury. Throughout the years I have held numerous positions from Fixed Operations Director to General Manager. I have also consulted with numerous dealerships all over the country covering just about all makes of vehicles. In December of 2014, I graduated from the National Automobile Dealers Academy in Washington, D.C. and was honored as the class ambassador.
Why did you start (or purchase) this particular business? I was involved in a corporate restructure back in March of this year and decided that I wanted to be back in Rome not only to do business, but to be closer to my family as well.
What makes your business unique? We do business differently that most franchised and independent dealerships. We do not charge documentation fees nor do we add unnecessary fees to our car deals. It is pretty much a standard practice these days for dealers to add unnecessary fees, which in turn increases their profit, leaving the consumer to pay more for the same vehicle. We acquire our inventory the same way the big dealerships do, but we sell them for thousands cheaper.
What do you enjoy most about your chosen profession? I have always enjoyed meeting new people and building new friendships. Our ability to develop and maintain relationships is everything about our bottom line. (
What has been the biggest or most interesting challenge to overcome as a small business owner? The biggest challenge of being a small business owner is owning your first small business. Every detail is new chartered territory.
