Broiler/Fryer: National Broiler Market at-a-Glance For Oct. 5: Whole broiler/fryer prices are fairly steady to spots weak on three pound and up birds. Offerings of 3 lb. and heavier sizes are moderate to heavy while under 3 lb. sizes are light to moderate. Demand into retail channels is light to moderate. Food service demand is light to moderate. Floor stocks are balanced. Market activity is slow to moderate for late week trading. In the parts structure, jumbo wings and breast items are weak to lower, small wings are steady and dark meat is steady at best to weak. Supplies of wings and dark meat cuts are moderate to heavy; tenders, bone in and boneless skinless breasts are available and slow to clear. Market activity for parts is slow to moderate.
