HARBIN HERO HUSTLE 5K — The 2017 Harbin Hero Hustle 5K Race and 2-Mile Health Walk is set for Saturday in downtown Rome. Race-day registrati­on costs $30 for the 5K. During online registrati­on and race-day registrati­on, registrant­s can select one of five charities to support, Rome Floyd YMCA, Summit Quest, Floyd County CASA, The Sweet Cocoon and Living Proof Recovery. CLUB VOLLEYBALL TRYOUTS — The Rome Area Volleyball Club is holding tryouts for the upcoming season. Players 14 and under should attend the session Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at Rome High School, while a session for 15-18 year olds is Oct. 29 from 3-5 p.m. at Rome High School. Make up tryouts for all ages will be Nov. 2 from 7-8:30 p.m. at Shorter University’s Winthrop-King Centre. Fees are $45 for preregistr­ation and $50 at the door.
