The Armuchee AMVETS will have parking and a plant sale during the air show today and Sunday. Parking is $7 per car. Hanging plants $2 and up. Free airplane plants for children 10 and under while supplies last. Proceeds benefit Armuchee AMVETS. Limestone Valley RC&D will offer two free workshops on poultry farming today at the Gordon County Agriculture Building, 1282 Highway 53 Spur, Calhoun. The first workshop, from 10-10:45 a.m., will focus on energy audits and information about rural development programs to help pay for energy upgrades. The second workshop, from 11-11:45 a.m., will focus on upgrading operations.
Cave Spring United
Methodist Church, 30 Alabama St., Cave Spring, will be hosting Coosa River Basin Initiative and Jesse Demonbreun-Chapman today at 10 a.m. Lunch will be provided. The seminar is free and open to the public.
The Rome Shrine Ladies will have a yard sale at 2702 Garden Lakes Blvd. today from 8 a.m.-noon. Proceeds will benefit Shriners Hospitals. For more information call 706-506-1389.
The Al Brock Memorial
Hamfest and Tailgate will be held at the Rome Senior Center, 406 Riverside Parkway, today from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Admission is free. Tickets will be on sale for hourly and grand prizes. Bring your own table. Food and beverages will be for sale. No exams will

Harbin Clinic will host
Walk with a Doc today at 9 a.m. with Dr. Todd Kelley. The walk will begin at Bridgepoint Plaza and follow Kingfisher Trail for approximately 2 miles, but walkers have the option of adding more miles or turning around early. The Walk to End
Alzheimer’s will be held today at 9 a.m. at State Mutual Stadium. Walk participants will complete a 2-mile walk and learn about Alzheimer’s disease, advocacy opportunities, clinical studies enrollment and support programs and services from the Alzheimer’s Association.
Participants will also join in a tribute ceremony to honor those affected by Alzheimer’s disease. Sign up as a team captain, join a team or register to walk individually at www.georgiawalk.org.

The Polk County Police Department, Chattooga
County Sheriff’s Office and Blood Assurance will host blood drives on Tuesday and Oct. 27 in memory of Detective Kristen Hearne. The Polk County Police Department blood drive will be held Tuesday from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at 73 Clines Ingram Jackson Road, Cedartown. The Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office blood drive will be held Friday from 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at 35 West Washington St., Summerville. Donors will receive a T-shirt and balloon.
