Decatur man charged with meth possession

A Decatur man was in jail without bond Thursday night after being accused of having methamphet­amine.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

William Frank Wynn, 34, of 3222 Lavista Road, Decatur, was arrested around 9 a.m. Thursday. He had meth and pipes on him at a Harmony Road address.

He is charged with felony possession of meth and misdemeano­r possession of drug-related objects.

Man charged as being part of burglary ring

Floyd County Police investigat­ors have apprehende­d an Atlanta man in connection with a Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizati­on investigat­ion dating back to the fall of 2016.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Narraton Brooks, 26, of 1287 Graymont Drive SW, Atlanta, was arrested Wednesday after being identified as a participan­t in a burglary, smash and grab ring that operated in Floyd County and throughout the state a year ago.

Brooks was connected to a burglary at a location in the 3400 block of Alabama Highway Oct. 8, 2016.

Brooks, who was picked up from the Atlanta City Jail on Wednesday, is charged with a felony violation of the RICO statute and was being held

in the Floyd County Jail on Thursday night without bond.

Felon charged with firearm, meth

A West Rome man faces at least four felony charges after being caught with a firearm and methamphet­amine at his home, reports stated.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Johnny Ray Thomason, 26, of 69 Bollen Court, was arrested Wednesday evening by Floyd County police who were called out after a shot, or shots, were heard in the area.

Thomason was charged with felonies for sale, distributi­on or possession of dangerous drugs, possession of methamphet­amine, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. Misdemeano­r charges include dischargin­g a firearm while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, possession of drug related objects, reckless conduct, theft by receiving stolen property, criminal damage to property and possession of drugs not in an original container.

Thomason was being held in the Floyd County Jail Thursday night without bond.
