The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office will be accepting applicatio­ns for

the Sheriff’s Santa Program at Good Neighbor Ministries, 208 E. Second St.,

Monday through Nov. 17. We support children ages 0-15. Applicatio­ns must be submitted in person from 1-5 p.m. Applicants must submit a valid Georgia driver’s license or government-issued ID, children’s birth certificat­es or Social Security cards, courtorder­ed custody documents and/or DFCS paperwork. Applicatio­ns cannot be taken during regular business hours at Good Neighbor’s or the Sheriff’s Office locations. PAWS, 99 N. Ave., is waiving adoption fees through Dec. 15 when you bring in a new, unwrapped children’s toy. Toys will be distribute­d to local groups including Floyd County Sheriff Santa, Angel Tree, Salvation Army and Toys for Tots. Donations of toys without adoption also accepted. Adoptive families will still be responsibl­e for spay or neuter and vaccinatio­n costs.
