The Floyd County Commission will consider on Tuesday a revision to the current budget, several contracts and a request for extra maintenance funds for the Judicial Center.

The board caucuses at 2 p.m. and starts its regular meeting at 4 p.m. in the County Administration Building, 12 E. Fourth Ave. Both sessions are public.

Caucus discussion is expected to center around budgeting, with an explanation of 2017 changes and a presentation of projected revenue and expenses for 2018 on the agenda. Commissioners typically adopt the new budget in mid-January.

Separately, there’s a request for an additional $14,500 for repairs and maintenance at the Judicial Building. County Manager Jamie McCord said the carpeting is more than 20 years old and is being replaced in stages.

There also are two pending contracts: with TSW for consulting services on a comprehensive plan and with Michael Baker International for design work connected to the runway extension at Richard B. Russell Regional Airport.

The board’s consent agenda — a list of noncontroversial items that are approved with a single vote — contains a number of beer, wine and self-serve fuel sales license renewals for 2018.

Commissioners also are expected to formally cancel their second meeting in December, which falls on the day after Christmas, although a special meeting could be called if there is business that can’t wait until January.
