The Rome Noon Optimist Club will hold their 57th annual pancake breakfast on

Saturday at the Rome Civic Center, 400 Civic Center Drive. Doors will open at 6 a.m. and close at noon. Proceeds will benefit the club’s youth programs. All-you-can-eat tickets are $7 each, and sausage is $5 per pound in advance. Tickets are $8 at the door. A drivethrou­gh will be available for take-out.

The Concerned Citizens of Rome and Floyd County will host the 29th annual Thanksgivi­ng Love Feast on Thanksgivi­ng Day, Nov. 23, at the Rome Civic Center, 400 Civic Center Drive, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. or until food runs out. Free food, coats and jackets will be offered. Coat and jacket donations will be accepted Nov. 22 from 6-8 p.m. at the Civic Center. Donations of cakes, pies and desserts will be accepted at 6 p.m. on Nov. 22. Send any monetary donations to Thanksgivi­ng Love Feast, P.O. Box 161, Rome, Ga., 30161. Those cooking turkey and dressing should arrive the morning of the feast between 8-9 a.m. Volunteer slots are available from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. To volunteer call 706-234-2091. PAWS, 99 North Ave., is waiving

adoption fees through Dec. 15 with donation of a new, unwrapped children’s toy. Toys will be distribute­d to local groups including Floyd County Sheriff’s Santa, Angel Tree, The Salvation Army and Toys for Tots. Donations of toys without adoption also will be accepted. Adoptive families will still be responsibl­e for spay or neuter and vaccinatio­n costs.
