Optimist Club will hold their 57th annual pancake breakfast on Saturday at the Rome Civic Center, 400 Civic Center Drive. Doors will open at 6 a.m. and close at noon. Proceeds will benefit the club’s youth programs. All-you-can-eat tickets are $7 each, and sausage is $5 per pound in advance. Tickets will cost
$8 at the door. A drivethrough will be available for breakfast take-out.
The Georgia Master Gardener Extension Volunteer Training
Program application deadline has been extended to Nov. 30. The program trains volunteers to provide current horticultural information through community service and educational gardening projects using applied research and the resources of the University of Georgia. Training classes will be held at the Floyd County Extension Office, 12 E. Fourth Ave., every Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Jan. 10, 2018 to March 16, 2018.
