THANKSGIVI­NG DAY

The Concerned Citizens of Rome and Floyd County will host the 29th annual Thanksgivi­ng Love Feast on Thanksgivi­ng Day at the Rome Civic Center, 400 Civic Center Drive, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. or until food runs out. Free food, coats and jackets will be offered. Coat and jacket donations will be accepted Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Civic Center. Donations of cakes, pies and desserts will be accepted at 6 p.m. on Wednesday. Send any monetary donations to Thanksgivi­ng Love Feast, P.O. Box 161, Rome, GA 30161. Those cooking turkey and dressing should arrive the morning of the feast between 8-9 a.m. Volunteer slots are available from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. To volunteer call 706-234-2091.

MULTIDAY EVENTS

The Turkey Trot for Wanda, a benefit 5K road race and 1-mile health walk, will be held Nov. 25 from 8-11 a.m. at Dowdy Park, 170 Veterans Memorial Drive, Summervill­e. Silver Creek United Methodist Church, 36 Reeceburg Road, Silver Creek, will be a collection point for Operation Christmas Child, which collects shoe boxes filled with gifts for children and distribute­s them around the world. Collection dates are Saturday from 10 a.m.-noon, Sunday from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., and Monday from 10 a.m.-noon.

is selling bulbs for the Star Between the Stacks for $20 each through Nov. 28. Bulbs may be placed on the star “In Memory Of” and “In Honor Of.” All donations are tax exempt.
