THANKSGIVING DAY
The Concerned Citizens of Rome and Floyd County will host the 29th annual Thanksgiving Love Feast on Thanksgiving Day at the Rome Civic Center, 400 Civic Center Drive, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. or until food runs out. Free food, coats and jackets will be offered. Coat and jacket donations will be accepted Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Civic Center. Donations of cakes, pies and desserts will be accepted at 6 p.m. on Wednesday. Send any monetary donations to Thanksgiving Love Feast, P.O. Box 161, Rome, GA 30161. Those cooking turkey and dressing should arrive the morning of the feast between 8-9 a.m. Volunteer slots are available from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. To volunteer call 706-234-2091.
MULTIDAY EVENTS
The Turkey Trot for Wanda, a benefit 5K road race and 1-mile health walk, will be held Nov. 25 from 8-11 a.m. at Dowdy Park, 170 Veterans Memorial Drive, Summerville. Visit runsignup.com to register. Registration is $25 with a $2.50 signup fee. Registration will end Thursday. Proceeds will benefit a fund for Wanda Durham, who was recently diagnosed with cancer.
Silver Creek United Methodist Church, 36 Reeceburg Road, Silver Creek, will be a collection point for Operation Christmas Child, which collects shoe boxes filled with gifts for children and distributes them around the world. Collection dates are Saturday from 10 a.m.-noon, Sunday from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., and Monday from 10 a.m.-noon.

is selling bulbs for the Star Between the Stacks for $20 each through Nov. 28. Bulbs may be placed on the star “In Memory Of” and “In Honor Of.” All donations are tax exempt. The names will be read during the star-lighting ceremony on Dec. 2. Bulb donations may be mailed to Restoration Lindale Inc., 534 Reeceburg Road, Silver Creek, GA 30173.
