Cave Spring area churches will join together for a community

Christmas brunch, “United in Faith,” with fellowship, food and a visit from Santa on Saturday from 10:30 a.m.-noon at the Cave

Honda & Suzuki of Rome, 2595 Shorter Ave., will host their third annual toy drive on Saturday from 1-3 p.m. with hot chocolate, cookies and free pictures with Santa. PAWS, 99 North Ave., is waiving adoption fees through Dec. 15 with donation of a new, unwrapped children’s toy. Toys will be distribute­d to local groups including Floyd County Sheriff’s Santa, Angel Tree, The Salvation Army and Toys for Tots. Donations of toys without adoption also will be accepted. Adoptive families will still be responsibl­e for spay or neuter and vaccinatio­n costs.

The Friends of the Library are currently offering their annual Christmas

Penson requests that veterans of all military branches of service be sure their DD214 discharge is recorded at the courthouse. Veterans may record their DD-214 in Floyd County in addition to their hometown, county or state. Bring a DD-214 to the Clerk of Superior Court’s Office, 3 Government Plaza, Suite 101, to have it recorded for Floyd County. This is a free service for all veterans.
