PAWS, 99 North Ave., is waiving adoption fees through Dec. 15 with donation of a new, unwrapped children’s toy. Toys will be distributed to local groups including Floyd County Sheriff’s Santa, Angel Tree, The Salvation Army and Toys for Tots. Donations of toys without adoption also will be accepted. Adoptive families will still be responsible for spay or neuter and vaccination costs.
The Friends of the Library are currently offering their annual Christmas

Veterans may record their DD-214 in Floyd County in addition to their hometown, county or state. Bring a DD-214 to the Clerk of Superior Court’s Office, 3 Government Plaza, Suite 101, to have it recorded for Floyd County. This is a free service for all veterans.
