Richard Barron Cook
Mr. Richard Barron Cook, age 66, of Shannon, Ga., passed away on Dec. 22, 2017, at his residence.
Memorial services will be held in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, on Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Tony Cargle officiating.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, on Saturday from 1 until 2 p.m.

SOUTH CHAPEL
Raymond Joseph Payne
Mr. Raymond Joseph Payne, age 74, of Rome, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017, at a local hospital.
Mr. Payne was born in Rome, Georgia on March 7, 1943, son of the late Claude Richard Payne and the late Ada Lou Moore Payne. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Pat Samuels and Lorrine Elliott, by three brothers, Junior Payne, Allen Payne and Johnny Payne, and by a nephew, Ray Payne. Mr. Payne was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving in the 597th Truck Company during the Vietnam War. He worked for a number of years for Kmart and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Payne loved golf, bowling and fishing and was a member of the Bowling Association.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma Janet Thomas Payne, to whom he was married on July 29, 1972; a son, David Henson Slay, Natchez, MS; a daughter, Tammy Wynette Payne, Rome; a sister, Shirley Payne, Silver Creek; seven grandchildren including a beloved grandson, Jacob Thomas Jones; five great grandchildren including his precious little man, Will Thomas; several nieces and nephews including a special niece, Cynthia Elliott; close friends, Paul & Linda Morris and James & Jean Maxwell.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2017, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with the Rev. Gregory Drake officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with the American Legion Post #5 Honor Guard presenting military honors.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Tuesday from 1 pm until the service time.
Pallbearers are asked to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. and include: Active: Jeffrey Coheley, Jeff Coheley, Kenneth Hamilton, Josh Hamilton, Mark Chambers and Tommy Taylor. Honorary: David Marshall, John Garrett, John Drake, Danny Drake, Paul Morris, Johnny Drake and Terry Brooks.

Shirley Ruth Wade
Mrs. Shirley Ruth Wade, age 70, of Cave Spring, passed away on Friday, Dec. 22, 2017, at a local hospital.
Mrs. Wade was born in Columbus, Georgia on November 13, 1947, daughter of the late James Presley and the late Mary Louise Oliver Presley. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sheila Elizabeth Wade. Mrs. Wade worked for Sara Lee Bakery and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her husband, Arthur Wayne Wade, to whom she was married on February 23, 1963; three children, Tony Wayne Wade, Rome, Connie Sue Humphrey, Piedmont, Ala., and Claude Ellis Wade, Cave Spring; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a sister, Earlene Howard, Columbus; a brother, Melvin Oliver, Columbus; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2017, at noon in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with the Rev, Clifford Free officiating. Interment will follow in Rome Memorial Park.

Beverly Eunice Womack
Ms. Beverly Eunice Womack, age 59, of Silver Creek, passed away on Monday, Dec. 18, 2017, at a local hospital.
Ms. Womack was born in Rome, Georgia on January 31, 1958, daughter of the late Rev. Harrison Lee Davenport and the late Eunice Mae Johnson Davenport. She was of the Baptist faith. Ms. Womack worked at Galey & Lord for 20 years and currently worked for F & P of Rome.
Survivors include her companion, Lee Smith; three children, Lee Gilreath and his wife, Cathy, Rockmart, Shane Lindsey and his wife, Rachael, Rome, and Brandy Combs and her husband, Robert, Lindale; three stepchildren, Kandi Sanford and her husband, David, Tareka Smith and her husband, Taron, and Leigh Ann Smith and her husband, Robert; nineteen grandchildren; one great grandchild; three sisters, Elaine LeMay, Janice Garrett and Rachel Callies; four brothers, Danny Davenport, Larry Davenport, Gilbert Davenport and Gerald Davenport; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017, at 3 p.m. in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel with the Rev. Vance Stiles officiating. Interment will follow in Rome Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Tuesday from 6 until 8 p.m. At other hours, they will be at their respective residences.
Pallbearers are asked to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. and include: Active: Dylan Dennis, Tyler Combs, Brayden Gilreath, Austin Lindsey, Jacob Gilmore, Joshua Gilmore and Cody Hopkins. Honorary: Trevor Combs and Mason Campbell.

Mr. Ernest Kidd Jr., age 64, of 231 Smith Road, Rome, Ga. transitioned Dec. 18, 2017. Mr. Kidd’s service will be Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017, at 1 p.m. at Christ Temple RPC. The body will lie instate from noon until the funeral hour. Interment will follow at Eastview Cemetery. Keep the family in your prayers.
