Plunge on Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Rolater Lake in Rolater Park, 13 Old Cedartown Road, Cave Spring. Participan­ts will receive a Polar Bear Plunge shirt and Tradition New Year’s lunch. Berry College will host former Governor of New Jersey Christine

Todd Whitman on Jan. 25 at 7 p.m. as part of the Berry College Cecil B. Wright III Integrity in Leadership lecture series. The lecture will be held in the Krannert Ballroom at Berry College, 2277 Martha Berry Highway, and is free and open to the public. Whitman is the president of The Whitman Strategy Group and served in the cabinet of President George W. Bush as Administra­tor of the Environmen­tal Protection Agency. She was the 50th Governor of the State of New Jersey from 1994 until 2001.

Darlington School, 1014 Cave Spring Road, will host Discover Darlington for prospectiv­e pre-K to 12th-grade day students and parents on Feb. 2 from 8:30-11 a.m.
