FBI seeking ‘Punisher’ bank robber
ATLANTA — The FBI is requesting help from the public in identifying and locating an armed bank robber who continues to target Atlanta area banks.
The suspect sometimes wears a Tshirt with the logo of the comic book character “The Punisher,” like he did in the most recent robbery in Sandy Springs. The robber is described as a black male in his mid to late 30s, bald, medium build, with some facial hair, wearing a large/oversized black watch on his left wrist and carries a small zippered bag.
On Dec. 22, the suspect entered the Sun Trust Bank at 993 Johnson Ferry Road in Sandy Springs. The suspect, who was wearing a Punisher shirt, passed the teller a note demanding money.
The FBI believes the same suspect is responsible for other bank robberies.
On Sept. 6 he is suspected of robbing a Regions Bank on Cheshire Bridge Road. He also used a demand note and left in a black Toyota Corolla.
On Sept. 22, he is suspected of robbing a Regions Bank on Roswell Road in Sandy Springs. At that time, he wore the same outfit from the previous robbery.
On Oct. 16, the FBI believes he robbed a Regions Bank on North Point Parkway in Alpharetta. He used a demand note, and wore the same outfit from previous robberies.
On Dec. 5, he is suspected of robbing a Bank of America on Roswell Road in Sandy Springs. This time he displayed a weapon after the bank teller did not comply with his demands.
On Dec. 7, he is accused of robbing a Regions Bank on Roswell Road in Marietta.
