RLT ‘Prime Timers’ begins Jan. 4

-

Rome Little Theatre invites Rome and Floyd County residents to make new friends and share laughter with RLT’s senior group, the RLT “Prime Timers.”

Classes will focus on everyday skills such as memory, movement, and socialization through the acting process.

The 12-week session runs Thursday, Jan. 4 through Thursday, March 29. Each class will meet twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. RLT offers a morning class from 9-11:30 a.m. and an afternoon class from 4-6:30 p.m. The cost for the twelve-week class is $125. After ten weeks of classes, the “Prime Timers” will put together a show and take their talent on the road. The class will share their passion for the arts and perform at senior centers, assisted living facilities, and nursing homes.

They will close out this session with a performance at the Historic Desoto Theatre for friends and family to see the talent and growth achieved by the actors.

“For those of you who don’t know me, I have been around our theatre for about twenty years now and yes, I’m a senior too,” said Karen Bowling, the classes’ instructor and current president of the Board of Directors at RLT, who has recently directed musicals such as “9 to 5,” “The Addams Family,” “Legally Blonde,” “Hairspray” and “Annie.”

Those interested can register online at www.Romelittletheatre.com or by calling the office at 706-295-7171.
