Rome Seven Hills Rotary will meet at noon on Tuesday at Coosa Country Club, 110 Branham Ave. Kirk Jarrett will present a program on the newly passed tax reform bill and its implications for 2018.
The Floyd County Board of Commissioners will meet on Tuesday in the Community Room, Suite 206, Floyd County Administration Building, 12 E. Fourth Ave. Caucus will begin at 4 p.m. in the Commissioners Caucus Room, Suite 204, followed by the board meeting at 6 p.m. The meetings are open to the public.
Beginner line dance classes will start Tuesday from 6-7 p.m. at the Charles C. Parker Senior Center, 1325 Kingston Highway. The class will last 10-12 weeks and will be instructed by Lois Roberts. The cost is $2 per person. All ages are invited. The Rome High Hilltoppers semi-annual reunion will be held Jan. 31 at 11 a.m. at Coosa Country Club, 110 Branham Ave. Lunch will be served at noon followed by a brief program. MULTIDAY EVENTS
Rome’s Own Gospel Choir and Northwest Georgia Winds will perform a concert titled “Lift Every Voice” at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 20 at the Rome City Auditorium. Admission is free. The concert will celebrate unity and togetherness for Black History Month. Floyd County Schools will accept applications for the Georgia Lottery PreKindergarten Program for the upcoming 2018-19 school year from Jan. 30 through
Feb. 9 during regular school hours of 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Applications may be picked up and returned to the following: Alto Park Elementary, Cave Spring Elementary, Garden Lakes Elementary, Glenwood Primary, Johnson Elementary, McHenry Primary, Model Elementary and Pepperell Primary. The guidelines to apply are: Proof of residence, one application per child, apply in the attendance area of the school in which you reside, and child must turn 4 years old before Sept. 1.
