CARTERSVILLE — A body was found in a ditch by the Exit 296 entrance ramp on Cassville White Road on Saturday at around 7:30 a.m.

Bartow County Coroner Joel Guyton said the man’s license was found, and he was in his 40s.

As of Saturday night, officials had been unable to contact family, and could not release the identity of the man, according to policy.

Bartow County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Jonathan Rogers said there were no signs of foul play, but the cause of death is still under investigation.

“We really don’t know what we’ve got. He didn’t have any major trauma,” Guyton said Saturday night. “We’re still trying to figure everything out. He’s headed down for an autopsy.”
