Norma Annette Lemming Loveless
Ms. Norma Annette Lemming Loveless, age 75, of Cedartown, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2018, in a local hospital.
Ms. Loveless was born in Floyd County on April 8, 1942, daughter of the late Eddie Carlton Lemming and the late Doris Mae Sommerville Lemming. She retired from Bekaert Steel Wire Corp. in Rome following many years of employment. Following her retirement, she was employed with Kimoto Tech in Cedartown until becoming disabled. Ms. Loveless was a member of Lindale United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Lee Carver, and her husband, Stacey, Cedartown; her son, David Loveless, Cedartown; three grandchildren, Tylar Frieden, and her husband, Aaron, Snellville, Caitlyn Loveless and Hannah Loveless, both of Anoka, Minn.; her beloved sister, confidant, and best friend, Phyllis Ware, and her husband, Hugh, Silver Creek; two nephews, Steve Ware, and his wife, Pam, and Jim Ware, and his wife, Amber; great nieces and nephews also survive.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 14, 2018, at 4 p.m. in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel. The Rev. Larry Caywood will officiate with her family sharing.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Wednesday from 3 until 4 p.m.

Mildred Melton Price
Mrs. Mildred Melton Price, age 99, of Rome, passed away Saturday evening, February 10, 2018, in a local health care facility.
Mrs. Price was born in Floyd County, Ga. on October 28, 1918, daughter of the late James A. and Rosa Lee Akins Melton. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Clifford Price; by two sisters, Ruby Bowman and Lillian Brooks; and by four brothers, Henry, Dudley, Wesley, and Clifford Melton. Prior to her retirement in 1987, Mrs. Price was employed for 49 years with West Point Pepperell Manufacturing Co. in Lindale, the last 15 of which were spent in the Mill Store. She was a member of Pleasant Valley South Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Charles C. Price, and his wife, Jean, Kingston, David E. Price, and his wife, Betsy, Rome, and James R. Price, and his wife, Donna, Rome; six grandchildren, Joey Price, and his wife, Chris, Louisville, Ky.; Maria Janow, and her husband, Chuck, Chattanooga, Tenn.; Carla Dyer, and her husband, Russ, Lindale; Gina Clevenger, and her husband, Lee, Rome; Bethany Gordon, and her husband, Neil, Kingston; and Brandon Price, and his wife, Becca, Rome; 14 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at 2 p.m. at Ellis Franklin Land Sr.
Mr. Ellis Franklin Land Sr., age 61, of Rome, passed away Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018, at his residence.
Mr. Land was born October 14, 1956 in Galveston, Texas, a son of the late Ellis Elvin Land and Ella Mae Winkles Land.
Survivors include son, Ellis Land Jr.; daughters, Candace Higginbotham, Crystal Land; 12 grandchildren; brother, Timothy (Alison) Land; sister, Teresa (Ronnie) Branton; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 12, 2018, at Good Shepherd Funeral Home with the Rev. Greg Swinford officiating. Interment will follow in Floyd Memory Gardens. Ms. Mary Young, age 72, of Rome, Ga., passed away Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018, at Floyd Medical Center.
Services for Ms. Mary Young will be held Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018, at noon at North Rome Church of God, 1929 N. Broad St., Rome, Georgia. She will lie in state from 11 a.m. until the hour of service. The family will receive friends at 38 Berkshire Drive, Rome, Georgia.

LAHORE, Pakistan (AP) — Asma Jehangir, one of Pakistan’s most prominent right activists and lawyers, died on Sunday of a heart attack in the eastern city of Lahore at the age of 66, her daughter said.
News of Jehangir’s sudden death shook political, social and media circles in Pakistan, as well as government ranks. President Mamnoon Hussain, Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and others offered condolences.
