Traffic stop results in felony drug arrest

A Floyd County man stopped by police Sunday while driving with an expired tag is facing multiple drug charges.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Steve Ray Montgomery, 61, of 14 Buck Trail, was arrested shortly after midnight Sunday morning on Dean Avenue after officers found several types of drugs in his truck.

Montgomery is facing two felony counts of possessing a Schedule IV controlled substance and felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance. He is also charged with misdemeano­r possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, drugs not in the original container, driving without insurance and driving on an expired tag.
