2 are facing drug charges after deputies find suspected heroin

Two Floyd County men arrested at a home on Coosawatte­e Avenue are facing felony charges of heroin possession.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Joshua Devin Dillard, 22, listed as homeless; and Chaz Ashton Huff, 26, of 5888 Rockmart Road in Silver Creek, were arrested Sunday night after sheriff’s deputies saw suspected heroin and a digital scale sitting on a coffee table in the home they were in.

The drug was not immediatel­y field-tested due to the dangers of exposure to the drug.

Dillard and Huff were each charged with felony possession of a Schedule I controlled substance

and misdemeano­r possession of a drug-related object.

Huff was being held Monday pending a $7,900 bond.

Dillard was additional­ly charged with two felony probation violations and was being held without bond.

Man accused of stealing ATV

A Floyd County man was in jail without bond Monday, accused of stealing an ATV and a truck axle.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Wiley Brent Watson, 19, of 6 Goodman Road, was arrested on warrants accusing him of taking a $13,000 Honda Pioneer 500 from a Kingston Road address early Sunday morning and a truck axle valued at over $1,500 from a Shorter Avenue residence in January.

Watson is facing two felony charges of theft by taking and a misdemeano­r probation violation. He’s also charged with misdemeano­r theft of services for throwing trash in the Shorter Avenue dumpster while committing the theft.
