Bonnie Ann Jones Lee

Ms. Bonnie Ann Jones Lee, age 71, of Pooler, Ga., formerly of Rome, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2018, following an extended illness.

Ms. Lee was born in Rome, Ga. on April 22, 1946, daughter of the late Verbin Vester Jones and the late Gladys Ann Waters Jones. She graduated from Johnson High School and was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Plainville, Ga. Bonnie had several loves in her life, singing (at home and with the choir at church), her family, friends, her Chihuahua, Pepe, and especially her grandchild­ren and great-grandchild­ren. She was strong, silly, quirky and quick to show you love. Her genuine and selfless personalit­y was an asset to CVS, where she worked as a shift manager for over 20 years. Ms. Lee joins those who preceded her in death: a daughter, Melissa Doane Watson; sister, Inez Jones; and two brothers, Garner Jones and Dennis Jones.

Survivors include a son, Thomas Jackson Watson Jr., Calhoun; daughter, Lori Watson Patterson, and husband, Wayne, Calhoun; daughter, Linda Diane Hardy, and husband, Tracy, Rome; daughter, Andrea Suzette Anderson, and husband, Scott, Pooler, Ga.; seven grandchild­ren, Charles Watson, Cartersvil­le, Jill Uren, Calhoun, Christa Anderson, Bradenton, Fla., Lindsey Hardy, Rome, Auburn Anderson, Pooler, McKenzie Hardy, Rome, Ansley Anderson, Pooler; four great-grandchild­ren; two nephews and multiple cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, with the Rev. Richard Webster and the Rev. Tracy Hardy officiatin­g. Interment will follow in Mizpah Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12 noon until 1:45 p.m. at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel.

Pallbearer­s are asked to meet at the funeral home on Saturday by 1:30 PM and include Charles Watson, Mike Duvall, Phillip Thompson, Luke Thompson, Tony Tran, and Alan Towe.

Bacyl Edwin Lonergan Jr.

Mr. Bacyl Edwin “Ed” Lonergan Jr., age 79, of Rome, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2018, at his residence.

Mr. Lonergan was born in Birmingham, Ala. on February 19, 1938, son of the late Bacyl E. Lonergan Sr. and Geneva Schmidke. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Suzie Caldwell. He was a self-employed contractor for a number of years before finishing his career in insurance sales. He sold insurance for New Era, Mutual of Omaha, and United Healthcare, among others. Mrs. Doris Gwendalyn Brooks Hall, age 73, of Rome, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2018, in local health care.

Mrs. Hall was born December 27, 1944 in Floyd County, daughter of Mildred Rogers Brooks and the late Jessie Brooks. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church and retired from Shorter College as a Secretary. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harrison Hall Sr.

Survivors include her mother, Mildred D. Brooks, Rome; daughters, Mary Roberson, Aragon, and Donna Pence; sons, Harrison Hall Jr. and George Hall; 10 grandchild­ren, one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 17, 2018, at Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Herman Stamey and the Rev. Harold Ingram officiatin­g. Interment will follow in Spring Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Rachael Vallejo, a fourth-grader at West End, has been diagnosed with cancer in the form of a tumor on her brain. The elementary school student’s face erupted into a smile when Miss Georgia Marianny Egurrola put the Miss Georgia crown on her head. The room erupted in applause and cheers from her classmates and her family members looked on with tears streaming down their faces.
