Man facing drug, obstructio­n charges

A Cedartown man was in jail without bond Saturday after police allegedly found a pipe with crack cocaine residue inside in the area of where he was sitting at the Walmart off U.S. 411.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Justin Van Adams, 27, of 1648 Lake Creek Drive, Cedartown, was arrested around 1:30 a.m. Saturday after initially running from two officers. Police had found two pipes, one with marijuana residue and another with crack cocaine residue, where he was sitting at the supercente­r at 825 Cartersvil­le Highway.

He is charged with felony possession of cocaine, along with two misdemeano­r counts of willful obstructio­n of law enforcemen­t officers and one count of possession of drug-related objects.

Dear Done: I’ll try, but first you will have to admit your part in creating this problem. You have to learn to say no to your daughter and her “boy’’friend. If you want to watch television for a few hours during their visit, remember it’s your home and you don’t have to apologize for it. If you want a mother/daughter lunch and manicures, and she wants to drag him along, say, “No, this is our mother/daughter time. An hour or so alone with you is not too much to ask.’’
