Joseph Tom Langley

Joseph Tom “Tommy” Langley, age 58, of Summervill­e, passed away Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018, at his residence.

Tommy was born December 21, 1959 in Detroit, Michigan, a son of the late James Langley and Barbara Ferguson Langley. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jeff Langley.

Survivors include, his wife, Grace Odell Langley; his children, Tristan Langley, Haleyville, Ala., Lea (Jordan) Oyond, Haleyville, Ala., Stevie Wells, California, Cody Langley, California, Nicholas Langley, California; brothers, Michael Langley, Eddie Langley; sisters, Carol Peevy, Tammy Pilcher; grandchild­ren, Jayden Oyond; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside and interment services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2018, at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Forney, Alabama. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 12 noon on Wednesday at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave., Rome, Ga. 30165.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Former Associated Press photograph­er Max Desfor, whose photo of hundreds of Korean War refugees crawling across a damaged bridge in 1950 helped win him a Pulitzer Prize, died Monday. He was 104. Desfor died at his apartment in Silver Spring, Maryland, where he’d been living in his retirement, said his son, Barry.
