FREE SOCCER CLINIC — SSA North GA is hosting its sixth annual free children’s community soccer clinic today at North Floyd Park. The clinic is open for children ages 3-14, with the first session from 11 a.m. to noon for children ages 3-8 and the second session from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. for children ages 9-14. Children of all soccer abilities and interest levels are welcome. Participants can register online at www.ssaelite.com by selecting ROME NTH/GA from the location menu. Spots are limited.
ARSENAL SPRING SOCCER — Early registration for the Rome YMCA Arsenal spring recreational soccer league is going on through today. The focus is participation and fun with development of fundamental skills through activities and games. Players are separated into boys and girls divisions with different age groups from 6-andunder to 15-and-under. Early registration is $69 for YMCA members and $109 for nonmembers. Fees increase $10 after Saturday and include a jersey, end-of-season award and party, as well as Georgia Soccer Association registration. For more information contact the YMCA at 706-232-2468.
LEPRECHAUN-A-THON — The 2018 Harbin Clinic Leprechaun-a-thon 5K race will be held March 17 at 7:30 p.m. Runners and walkers should wear green for a chance to win prizes at the pre-race costume contest. To register and for more information visit rfpra.com/leprechauna-thon. Preregistration is $25 for the 5K and $20 for the walk. Kids ages 12 and younger and groups of 10 or more can register for $20 each by visiting the Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation administration office, 1 Shorter Ave. Preregistration ends on March 16. PRESCHOOL SOCCER CLASSES — Rome YMCA Arsenal is presenting Lil’ Gunners preschool soccer classes this spring. Each session introduces soccer through games and activities. The first session of four classes begins March 15 with a second session starting April 19. The cost is $25 for YMCA members and $40 for non-members, and includes a team shirt and medal. Classes meet at Grizzard Park on Thursdays from 5-5:35 p.m. and are limited to 15 participants. For more information contact the YMCA at 706-232-2468.
BERRY VOLLEYBALL CAMPS — GRIT Volleyball Camp at Berry College is hosting a series of clinics and camps this summer. All clinics and camps focus on developing and refining specific skills through repetitions and learning strategies that will increase volleyball IQ. Clinics on specific skills will be held June 1-2, while day camps for all skills are scheduled for June 4-6 and 27-29.
