The panel will also review the latest redevelopment plan for the Hoyt house site in downtown Rome.
The 400 block of Broad Street will be getting a new look if improvements proposed at five properties are approved by the Historic Preservation Commission on Wednesday afternoon. The HPC will also review the latest redevelopment plan for the Hoyt house property at 603 W. First St.
The HPC has previously rejected one redevelopment plan for the Hoyt family property. The HPC made approval of a new site plan one of the requirements prior to demolition of the century and a half old home which has been in the
Hoyt family for its entire existence.
The plan includes both townhouse style residences facing West First Street and two single family residences at the top of the hill where the existing structure sits.
Facade work at 407409 Broad St., owned by Nathan Roberts will be considered by the HPC, as will facade work and
plans for second floor residential space at the Lieberman Chiropractic building at 421 Broad St.
Harry Brock is proposing facade work at 412 Broad along with conversion of the second floor space into
a residential unit. RF and MF Properties LLC is asking for approval to remove the faux second-floor facade windows on the second floor of the old Esserman’s building at 425 Broad St. as part of the plan to convert the second floor of that building into lofts. A separate request at the same location will involve signage for a proposed restaurant.
