Police report that seized cocaine, meth and synthetic marijuana were in quantities greater than for personal use.

A Rome woman was in jail without bond Tuesday night after police arrested her following the execution of a search warrant at her home that led to the discovery of heroin, cocaine, methamphet­amine, synthetic marijuana and other drugs. According to Floyd County Jail reports: Samantha Patrice Watkins, 28, of 328 Leafmore Road, was arrested around 1:03 p.m. Monday. In addition to the other drugs, police also found a quantity of the sedative trazodone, which is classified as a dangerous drug, along with a chemical compound composed of three controlled substances — cocaine and two types of synthetic cannabinoi­d.

The synthetic marijuana, cocaine and meth were all in quantities greater than for personal use. The cocaine and meth seized were more than an ounce each. Police also found digital scales.

She is charged with felony possession of cocaine; possession of cocaine with intent to distribute; traffickin­g in cocaine; possession of heroin; possession of synthetic marijuana with intent to distribute; possession of a Schedule I controlled substance; possession of meth; possession of meth with intent to distribute; traffickin­g in meth; and possession of a dangerous drug. She is also charged with possession of marijuana less than an ounce.

Report: Man found with meth after calling 911 5 times in an hour

A Rome man who was arrested after calling Floyd County 911 five times in less than an hour Tuesday morning was found with methamphet­amine in his sock during a search at the jail. According to Floyd County Jail reports: Gary Sean Reeves, 47, of 1349 Redmond Circle Apt. F-8, was arrested around 7:13 a.m. Tuesday. He had made the five 911 calls between 5:49 a.m. and 6:37 a.m.

He is charged with felony possession of meth and crossing county guard lines with drugs. He is also charged with misdemeano­r unlawful conduct during a 911 call.

Police: Seat-belt stop leads to 2 arrests with marijuana and meth

Floyd County Police arrested a man and woman during a traffic stop that led to felony drug charges. According to Floyd County Jail reports: Michael Anthony Brock, 41, of 6688 Alabama Highway, and Heather Wilson McLemore, 41, of 407 Padlock Mountain Road, Cave Spring, were arrested Monday afternoon at the intersecti­on of Ga. 100 South and Black’s Bluff Road. The vehicle they were in was stopped because neither one of them was wearing a seat belt.

During the course of the investigat­ion,

county police found a quantity of methamphet­amine and marijuana in the vehicle.

Both were charged with felony possession of methamphet­amine and misdemeano­rs for possession of marijuana and the seat belt violation.

Brock and McLemore were being held in the Floyd County Jail on Tuesday pending a $5,700 bond.

Homeless man facing firearm, criminal trespass charges

A homeless man has been arrested after reportedly being found on property from which he had been asked by the property owner to stay away. According to Floyd County Jail reports: Gary Michael Turner, 33, listed as homeless on jail records, was charged with a felony for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and a misdemeano­r charge of criminal trespassin­g after he showed up Monday on property off Kraftsman Road in the Coosa community.

Police allege that he showed up at the property with the intent of taking a vehicle and was found with a pistol in the waistband of his pants.

Turner was being held in the Floyd County Jail on Tuesday pending a $3,500 bond.

Rome man charged with entering an auto, stealing tools

A Rome man has been charged with entering an automobile in downtown Rome last fall. According to Floyd County Jail reports: Michael Tyrone Fields, 50, of 195 Hasty Road, was picked up for entering at 2008 Toyota Tundra on Nov. 14 at 1 Government Plaza and stealing a sawzall and skillsaw, together valued at $260.

Fields was charged with felony entering an auto and being held Tuesday pending a $3,500 bond.

Rome woman charged with failing to appear in court

A Rome woman has been jailed after failing to appear in court to answer a felony charge. According to Floyd County Jail reports: Shakira Maquica Salaam, 22, of 100 E. Ninth St., was arrested and being held in the Floyd County Jail without bond on a felony probation warrant for failing to show up in court to answer to felony obstructio­n and misdemeano­r simple battery charges.
