Warrants: Man threatened roommate Police: Homeless man stole motorcycle

A Garden Homes man was being held in the medical wing of the jail without bond Wednesday after he reportedly threatened to kill his roommate.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

James Willie Washington, 70, of 6 Springdale Drive, was arrested on warrants charging him with felony terroristi­c threats and misdemeano­r obstructio­n of law enforcemen­t. Washington is accused of threatenin­g to use a gun to kill a man in the house. The threats were captured on a 911 recording. He also refused orders from police using a public address system to tell him to come out of the house.

A 22-year-old man was jailed on a theft charge after he reportedly stole a motorcycle Wednesday morning, reports stated

According to Adairsvill­e Police Department reports:

A resident on Poplar Spring Road reported to police a motorcycle

had been stolen from the home around 7 a.m. when he went inside after warming up his car.

After taking the report officers were checking the area when they observed a tent in some woods beside the cemetery on Poplar Springs Road.

The officers noticed what appeared to be taillights in the area of the tent.

They found the stolen motorcycle and found 22-year-old Cory Shane Ellis hiding underneath some household materials.

Ellis told police he was homeless and that’s why he was sleeping in the woods.

Ellis was arrested without incident and subsequent­ly transporte­d to the Bartow County Jail. He is charged with theft by taking motor vehicle and criminal trespass.
