Man accused of taking grandmother’s car, purse
A Rome man was in jail without bond Friday night after being accused of taking his grandmother’s vehicle without her permission along with taking her purse.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Michael Eddie Stewart, 33, of 2691 N. Broad St. Extension, was originally arrested Feb. 18 on a misdemeanor theft by taking warrant. In that incident he took a woman’s bicycle valued at $140.
On Friday he was charged with felony theft by taking a motor vehicle and exploitation of the elderly. He was also charged with misdemeanor driving on a suspended license.
These charges stem from another incident on Feb. 18, when he took his 83-year-old grandmother’s vehicle and drove it on a suspended license. He also took her purse and hid it from her, causing her “mental anguish.”

3 women charged with felony conspiracy to distribute drugs
Three women have been jailed in Rome on felony charges of conspiring to distribute controlled substances.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Megan Rachelle Lambert, 30, of 278 Mac Johnson Road, Cartersville, Natasha Marie Lambert, 32, of 278 Mac Johnson Road, Cartersville, and Ashley Anna Downs, 32, of 5535 J.F. Harris Parkway, Adairsville, were all arrested Thursday night. Natasha Lambert and Downs remained in jail without bond Friday night. Megan Lambert was released from jail Friday after posting a $5,700.
Warrants for all three allege that they conspired with a physician to unlawfully distribute oxycodone. The physician prescribed the drugs for the women “outside the usual course of professional practice,” and not for “legitimate medical purposes,” according to the warrants. The women then had the prescriptions filled at a Rome pharmacy for the purpose of illegally dispensing the pain killers.
The warrant against Downs alleges the act occurred on Jan. 25, 2017. The warrant for Natasha Lambert claims the act occurred June 14, 2017, while the warrant for Megan Lambert alleges the prescription was written and filled on July 6 of 2017.
Rome man charged with rape, assault, battery and threats
A Rome man faces several felony charges after allegedly assaulting a woman in the Sherwood Forest community on Feb. 23.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Dale Robert Agan Jr., 29, of 412 Robin Hood Road, was arrested Thursday night and charged with felony rape, aggravated assault and misdemeanors for battery and terroristic threats.
He is accused of putting his hands around the victim’s throat during the sexual attack. The threat charges stem from his telling the woman that if he saw her in public with another man that he would beat both of them.
Agan was being held in the Floyd County Jail on Friday night without bond.
Atlanta man charged with financial card fraud at Belk
An Atlanta area man has been arrested on multiple counts of financial transaction card fraud while shopping in Rome last fall.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Eric Vincent Dunn Willie, 37, of 4631 Legacy Square, Atlanta, was arrested on four counts of felony financial transaction card fraud.
Dunn is accused of purchasing jewelry and cosmetics worth more than $2,500 from the Belk department store in Mount Berry Mall on the afternoon of Nov. 27, 2017.
Willie was released from jail Friday on a $3,500 bond.
Rome man charged with possession of Xanax
A Rome man has been jailed after officers with the Rome Floyd Metro Task Force obtained a warrant charging him with possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Taylor James Lobrillo, 32, of 311 Surrey Trail, was caught with a quantity of Xanax when his wallet was found in the parking lot of a local real estate company Thursday afternoon.
Lobrillo was released from jail Friday on a $5,700 bond.
Woman facing multiple drug charges after consent search
An East Rome woman has been taken into custody at an apartment complex off Dodd Boulevard on five drug charges.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Heather Mae Justice, 37, of 131 Dodd Blvd., was arrested Thursday night during a consent search, which revealed that she was in possession of methamphetamine, marijuana and prescription narcotics.
Justice was charged with felonies for possession of methamphetamine and a Schedule II drug, along with misdemeanors for possession of marijuana, possession of drug-related objects and possession of drugs not in an original container.
Justice was released from jail Friday on a $7,900 bond.
Police investigating theft of flat screen TVs from Walmart
Rome Police were sent to the West Rome Walmart on Thursday to investigate the theft of three large flat screen television sets. According to Rome Police reports: Loss prevention personnel at the store determined that a single male suspect took all three 43-inch flat screen Vizio sets, valued at $225 each, and walked right past open registers without paying for the items between 1 and 1:30 p.m. Thursday.
A female who was with the male subject bought three ONN TV sets in the electronics department and then handed the receipt to the male subject who took the different sets and left the store,
The male suspect left the store in a blue Chevy Blazer, then came back about ten minutes later to pick up the female.
