Floyd County CASA will hold a CASA 101 volunteer information session on Tuesday from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the Oostanaula Room at the Rome-Floyd County Library, 205 Riverside Parkway. The session will include information about the application process, the training and the case support provided to each volunteer. A Benefit Soccer Tournament for Jamie
Strong will be held Friday at Grizzard Park. The cost is $20 per player. U10 and U12 registration will be from 5 to 5:30 p.m. and kickoff at 5:45 p.m. U14 and U16 registration will be from 6:30 to 7 p.m. and kickoff at 7:15 p.m. Teams will be divided up as soon as registration closes. All
the proceeds will go to Jamie Hughes’ family to cover medical expenses. All participants will receive “Jamie Strong” T-shirts. Volunteers are needed. For more information call Lucas Levesque at 207-841-0305.
Floyd County Juvenile Court is
seeking volunteers to serve as Citizen Review Panel members. After the initial two-day training, this is a once-a-month commitment. Volunteers will meet families with whom the Division of Family and Children Services is involved. The parties go over the case plans to measure progress and make recommendations to the judge.
