Local residents earn degree from Western Governors University

SALT LAKE CITY — The following local students have received their degree from Western Governors University. The university held its 64th commenceme­nt ceremony at the Disney Coronado Springs Resort in Orlando on February 10th to celebrate the graduation of about 15,000 graduates from across the country.

Allyn Sandridge of Adairsvill­e has received her Bachelor of Arts in Special Education degree.

Amy Thomas of Adairsvill­e has received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.

Kelli Strickland of Rome has received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.

Elizabeth Freeman of Rome has received her Master of Science in Nursing — Leadership and Management (RN to MSN) degree.

Mallory Gresham of Rome has received her Master of Science in Nursing — Leadership and Management (RN to MSN) degree.

Rachael DeFoor of Rome has received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.

Dennis Young of Silver Creek has received his Master of Science in Management and Leadership degree.

At commenceme­nt, the online, nonprofit university recognized 8,839 undergradu­ates and 6,117 graduates who have completed their degrees in business, informatio­n technology, K-12 teacher education, and healthcare, including nursing.
