Man indicted in wife’s murder
Other indictments include a man accused of molestation.
A 57-year-old man accused of shooting and killing his wife in late December 2017 during a fight at their home at Bert Road was indicted by the Floyd County grand jury Friday.
According to Floyd County police:
Clarence McCluskey, of 347 Bert Road, was arrested and charged with felony murder shortly after Floyd County police responded to a shot-fired call at his home just before 10 p.m. on Dec. 22. Police found 54-year-old Lisa McCluskey lying on the floor near the kitchen with a gunshot wound to her head. She was pronounced dead at Floyd Medical Center by Deputy Coroner Brenton Whatley.
Investigator Charles Miller said the situation was apparently a domestic issue and it was obvious that Clarence McCluskey had been drinking.
“He was pretty drunk,” Miller said.
A .25-caliber handgun is the weapon police believe was used in the murder. A spent shell cartridge, which apparently did not eject from the handgun, was still inside the weapon.
Days after the shooting, Clarence McCluskey was additionally charged with felony aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and terroristic threats and acts.
He was in jail without bond Friday night.
Also among the 39 indictments was the case of a 24-year-old man who is charged with felony child molestation.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Alan Scott Clark, of 925 Booger Hollow Road, was arrested Jan. 31 on a warrant charging him with child molestation charge stemming from alleged acts against a 3-yearold child between May and November of 2017.
Clark is also accused of sending obscene photographs of himself to a 15-year-old through Facebook Messenger in January.
He is charged with two counts of child molestation, two counts of enticing a child for indecent purposes and one count of furnishing obscene material to a minor.
Clark remained in jail Friday on a $70,000 bond.
