Thursday from 4-7 p.m. Volunteers will be giving N. Fifth Ave. a temporary makeover based on future plans for redesigning the street. The event is free and family-friendly. To volunteer sign up at tinyurl. com/5thAveMakeover. Mount Berry Mall will
host Color for a Cause,a live mural-coloring contest, on Thursday from 5-7 p.m. During the event, participating organizations will be provided a mural and given two hours to color. Guest judges will select the most creative mural to win a prize donation, and the murals will be uploaded to wecolorforacause.com for the community to vote for their favorite to be displayed in the mall. Throughout the evening, shoppers will be able to participate by showing their receipt to earn a point for a participating organization. Color for a Cause will donate $1 for
each point earned and the organization with the most points will receive an additional prize donation. The Big Fibbers
Storytelling Festival will be held March 16-18 at the Charles Parker Senior Center, 1325 Kingston Highway. The festival opens Friday night at 7 p.m. with a story concert by nationally acclaimed tellers Bobby and Sherry Norfolk of St. Louis. Saturday offers workshops for tellers and educators at 9 a.m., the Debby Brown Young Tales competition at 2 p.m., a session of personal stories by local and regional tellers at 5 p.m. and the Big Fibbers contest at 8 p.m. On Sunday, the festival concludes with morning sessions at 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Weekend tickets are $25 in advance at www.bigfibbers.com or $35 at the door. Individual session tickets are $10$15. Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning sessions are free but donations are accepted.
