Report: South Rome woman damaged man’s Mercedes-Benz

A South Rome woman was in jail Saturday night on a felony stalking charge. According to Floyd County Jail records: Benita Michelle Hamilton, 24, of 425 Branham St., was arrested Saturday afternoon on accusation­s that she damaged the parked 1999 silver Mercedes-Benz E430 belonging to a 51-year-old man who had a protective order against her.

Hamilton is charged with felony aggravated stalking and misdemeano­r failure to report striking an unattended vehicle.

2 jailed on felony meth charges

Drugs reportedly found during a search of a car on Rockmart Highway in Silver Creek landed a man and woman in jail Saturday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Douglas Fredrick Bray, 36, of 1457 Doyle Road in Cedartown, and Jessica Lenzi-Cathryn Lambert, 26, of 26 Fulton Road in Kingston, were stopped just before 7 a.m. Saturday by county police.

An “inventory search” of the car turned up a bag of methamphet­amine and two scales with suspected meth residue.

Bray and Lambert were each being held without bond Saturday night on two felony counts of meth possession and a misdemeano­r charge of possession of drug-related objects. Bray is also charged with a felony probation violation.

Woman reportedly had pills

A 27-year-old Floyd County woman was in jail on drug charges Saturday night with her bond set at $7,900. According to Floyd County Jail records: Alyssa Michelle Fulford, 27, of 8074 Alabama Highway, was stopped by Rome police early Saturday morning on Riverside Parkway at West First Street after she failed to stay in her lane of traffic and went straight from a left-turn lane.

Fulford had 15 Alprazolam pills and 22 Concerta pills she was not authorized to have. She’s facing felony charges of possession of Schedule II and Schedule IV controlled substances. She’s also charged with misdemeano­r driving without a license, failure to maintain a lane and DUI.

Warrant: Man stole truck

A Fairmount man accused of stealing another man’s truck was in jail on

Saturday night pending a $5,000 bond. According to Floyd County Jail records: Robert Anthony Norry Jr., 40, of 3438 Scott Brown Road in Fairmount, was arrested Friday on a warrant charging him with taking a Calhoun man’s truck from the Silver Creek Mini Mart on Feb. 27 and driving it to Piedmont, Alabama. Police in Piedmont recovered the truck the next morning.

Norry is facing a felony charge of theft by taking a motor vehicle.
