Mr. James Donald Ingram
Mr. James Donald Ingram, age 84, of Cedartown, passed away Friday evening, March 23, 2018, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Ingram was born in Rome, Ga., on Oct. 19, 1933, son of the late Paul A. and Eva Goodwin Ingram. He was also preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Jeanette Faye “Cissy” Akins Ingram, by a sister, Frances Ingram Peacock, and by a brother, Lee Ingram. Mr. Ingram was a veteran of the United States Navy and served during the Korean War. Prior to his retirement, he was employed with Inland Container Corporation here in Rome for nearly 40 years. He was a former Mason and Shriner, was a humble, hard-working man who had a heart for the sick, the poor, and the less fortunate, as he always stated in his prayers. Mr. Ingram was a member of Doyle Road Baptist Church and loved and served Jesus Christ faithfully. He loved his family deeply and wanted them around him always. He was an avid hunter who took great joy in the sport.
Survivors include his wife, Sylvia Evans Ingram, to whom he was married on August 10, 2002; two children, Melanie Curry, and her husband, Danny, Rome, and Danny Ingram, and his wife, Cindy, Lindale; a stepdaughter, Sheryl Silva, and her husband, Michael, Augusta; six grandchildren, Alida Conway (Gary), Medea Alexander (Aaron), Ellice Tucker (Jason), Jonathan Ingram (Mandy), Jason Ingram, and Jessica Ingram; great-grandchildren, Ansley Vaughn (Hayden), Brynley Teems (Hunter Burkhalter), Denver Teems, Wesley Wade, Curry Teems, Haven Alexander, Kinsley Alexander, Isaac Tucker, Noah Tucker, Jeremy Hibberts, Madison Ingram, Jeremiah Hibberts, Kinsley Ingram, Kalin Ingram, Jackson Ingram, Charleigh Ingram, Waylon Ingram, and Jacie Faye Ingram; a sister, Pauline Roberson; three brothers, Wayne Ingram, Lonnie Ingram and Caleb Ingram; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 26, 2018, at 3 p.m. in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with the Rev. Earl Vaughn and the Rev. Wayne Kines officiating. Interment will follow in Rome Memorial Park with the American Legion Post No. 5 Honor Guard extending military honors.

Mrs. Betty Janet Bradshaw Bailey, age 86, of Rome, formerly of Silver Creek, passed away Saturday morning, March 24, 2018, in a local health care facility.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time but will be announced later.

Mrs. Nellie Towns Milton, age 88, of Rome, passed away Saturday morning, March 24, 2018, in a local health care facility.
Mrs. Milton was born in Rome, Ga., on May 9, 1929, daughter of the late Willis Newton Towns and the late On- nie Mae Shaw Towns. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Donald Milton on August 28, 2008, and by two brothers, Odis Lee Towns and James Willis Towns. Mrs. Milton was a graduate of Rome Girls High School in 1948. She was employed for a while with Congressman Henderson Lanham and at Wyatt’s Department Store. Prior to her retirement, she was employed with First National Bank and Trust in Rome. Mrs. Milton was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include three special nieces, Tanya Towns Turner (Cecil), Anniston, Ala., Reesa Milton (Fuad Khoury), Rome, and Jan Stinson (David), Centre, Ala.; two special nephews, Ted Newton Towns (Teressa), Anniston, Ala., and Timothy Lee Towns (Debbi), Birmingham, Ala.; three sisters-in-law, Ree Milton, Rome, Sara Milton, Titusville, Fla., and Marie Towns Wilberger, Rome; adopted family, Steve and Diane Rood, Rome. Other loving nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 26, 2018, at 12 noon in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with the Rev. Rob Harbison officiating. Private entombment will follow later in the Chapel Mausoleum at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Marshall “Buford” Moon, age 76, of Rome, GA, passed away on Thursday afternoon, March 22, 2018.
Buford was born in Sycamore, Ala., on February 16, 1942, son of the late Marshall Percy Moon and Paralee Kissic Moon. He had been a resident of Rome and Floyd County the greater part of his life and was a graduate of Coosa High School. Buford had served with the Rome Fire Department for over 40 years, retiring as a Battalion Chief. He enjoyed fishing, camping and riding his motorcycle. Mostly, Buford loved spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death on July 18, 2010, by his wife, Betty Ann Moon, who he married on July 3, 1971.
Buford is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Lori and Don Langston, and Britney Nicole Moon; three granddaughters, Jennifer Lynn Parker, Cassie Lee Weaver and Annslee Ann Cook; four greatgrandchildren, Hayden Henry, Jackson Parker, Nora Parker and Ryder Akins.
In keeping with Buford’s wishes, he has been cremated and his family will gather at the lake in the days to come and celebrate his life privately with an RC and a Moon Pie.

Walter Steve Reid was born November 5, 1946 in Rome, Ga. He passed away on March 21, 2018 in a hospital in Tampa, Fla.
He was the son of late Walter Arthur Reid and Imogene Alice Ledbetter. Steve was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Nicholas Allen Reid, granddaughter, Nikki Marie Reid, two brothers, Robert Allen Reid and David Ralph Reid.
Steve is survived by his son, Richard Steve (Betty Kay) Reid, two grandsons, Seven Ashton Reid, Richard Allen Reid. brothers, Larry Douglas Reid, Gary (Tammy) Oling, sister, Janis Marie Ingram, Steve had three cousins that grew up like sisters, Sheila Darn Baldwin, Linda Darn Burgess, and Donna Darn.
Steve’s wishes were to be cremated and a private celebration will be held today in Tampa, Fla.
