Model High baseball dugout vandalized

A dugout at the Model High baseball field was vandalized over the weekend.

According to Floyd County police reports: The vandalism was reported to police around 1:30 p.m. Sunday. Several areas of the dugout had been spray painted, and 18 baseballs had been thrown out onto the field and were ruined from rain. A helmet and a bat were also covered in spray paint. The report was passed on to the school resource officer.

Man accused of burglarizi­ng Wax Road home

A Silver Creek man was in jail without bond Monday night after being accused of burglarizi­ng a Wax Road home in early January.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Colby Lee Pope, 32, of 10 Midway School Road, was arrested Monday around 9:40 a.m. He is charged with felony first-degree burglary and probation violation. He is also charged with misdemeano­r criminal trespass.

He broke into a home in the 2800 block of Wax Road around 9:20 p.m. and stole several items. The damages to the home were valued at $500.

Woman charged with aggravated stalking

A Cartersvil­le woman is accused of violating the terms of a temporary protective order against her by going onto a Lindale property Monday afternoon and being “loud and boisterous while drunk,” reports stated.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Stacey Denise Thurman, 40, of 1596 Sugar Valley Road, was arrested Monday around 2 p.m. and charged with felony aggravated stalking. She is also charged with misdemeano­r public drunk. She went onto the Avenue C property of the person who took the TPO out against her. She was in jail without bond Monday night.
