AARP Tax-Aide is offering free assistance during the tax-filing season through

April 16 at two sites. Help is available at the Rome-Floyd County Library, 205 Riverside Parkway, on Mondays from 1-4 p.m. and at the Charles C. Parker Senior Center, 1325 Kingston Highway, on Wednesdays from 1-4 p.m. Bring all tax paperwork, last year’s tax return, a picture ID and Social Security card. Oak Hill & The Martha Berry Museum will present “Sanctuary at Berry: Wildlife Photograph­y by Gena Flanigen” through

Aug. 18. This exhibition explores Berry College’s wild inhabitant­s, including a variety of birds, mammals and reptiles. Berry faculty and community members will present lectures on white-tailed deer, the Berry College bald eagles, striped bass spawning and more. Habitat for Humanity Coosa

Valley is accepting applicatio­ns for the “A Brush with Kindness” program. The program assists homeowners in Floyd County by painting and performing minor repairs on the exterior of their homes. The homeowner repays the cost of the materials and supplies through a nointerest loan. Applicatio­ns may be picked up at the ReStore, 95 Three Rivers Drive. There is a $10 fee for a background check. Homeowners will be required to make a 10-percent down payment on the estimated cost of the project.
