Kiwanis Club of Rome will display its annual art showcase at the RomeFloyd County Library, 205 Riverside Parkway, Tuesday through April 11. Art showcase participan­ts must be students in grades 6-12. Special recognitio­n will be given to first-, second- and third-place winners for each grade level. Academic scholarshi­ps ranging from $200 to $1,000 will be awarded for students in grades 9-12. Georgia Northweste­rn Technical College,1 Maurice Culberson Drive, will hold their annual spring plant sale from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. on April 10, from 9 a.m.4 p.m. on April 11-12 and from 9 a.m.-noon on April 13. Purchases may be made with cash or check. Items sold include annuals, perennials, vegetables, herbs, hanging baskets, blooming plants, potted geraniums, tomatoes, peppers, squash, cucumbers, eggplants and more. Friends of the Chieftains Museum will sponsor the Chieftains Herb and Plant Sale from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. on April 14 and from noon3 p.m. on April 15 in the Community Building, Coosa Valley Fairground­s, 1400 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., rain or shine. Volunteers and Master Gardeners will be on hand to help with selections. Shoppers may purchase containers or bring their own clean pots. Credit and debit cards, checks and cash will be accepted.
