Ms. Mary Beasley age 79, of Rome, Ga., passed away Friday, April 6, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.

Ted Little Edwards Sr.

Mr. Ted Little Edwards, Sr., age 78, of Armuchee, passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2018, at his residence.

Mr. Edwards was born in Chattooga County on January 10, 1940, son of the late Benjamin Franklin Edwards and the late Carrie Kathleen Smiley Edwards. Prior to his retirement, he was parts manager at Rhinehart Equipment Company. He was a member of the Floyd Springs Baptist Church and a member of the Floyd Springs Masonic Lodge #167 F. & A. M.

Survivors include his wife, the former Sarah Jane Gilliland, to whom he was married on July 29, 1962; three sons, Ted Edwards, Jr., and his wife, Tina, Armuchee, David Edwards, and his wife Leann, Lindale, and Thomas Edwards, Armuchee; seven grandchild­ren, Ashley Comer, and her husband, Christian, Blake Edwards, Dawson Edwards, Megan Edwards, Josey Edwards, and her fiancé, Tyler Whitlock, Aubrie Edwards, and Weston Conner Edwards; two step-grandchild­ren, Rachel and Emily Phipps; three great grandchild­ren, Blakely and Emmy Comer and Tate Whitlock; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at 2 p.m. at Floyd Springs Baptist Church. The Rev. Charles Izell will officiate. Interment will follow in Floyd Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with the Floyd Springs Lodge #167 F. & A. M. in charge of graveside rites.

The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel on Monday from 5 until 7 p.m. At other hours, they may be contacted at the residence of a son, Ted Edwards, Jr., 25 Ashley Oaks Trail, Rome.

Pallbearer­s serving are asked to assemble at Floyd Springs Baptist Church on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. and include: Dawson Edwards, Blake Edwards, Ralph Vanpelt, Steve Swords, Christian Comer and John Edwards.

There will be a call communicat­ion of the Floyd Springs Masonic Lodge #167 at 1 p.m. on Tuesday for the purpose of attending the funeral service for Mr. Edwards.

William Thomas Hand Jr.

Mr. William Thomas Hand, Jr., age 92, of Rome, passed away Saturday morning, April 7, 2018, at his residence.

Mr. Hand was born in Adairsvill­e on Feb. 12, 1926, son of the late William Thomas Hand, Sr. and the late Martha Jefferson Hand. He was also preceded in death by his wife, the former Ethel Jeanette Yarbrough, by a son, Jackie Hand, by a sister, Mary Mulkey, and by two brothers, Walter and John Arthur Hand. Mr. Hand was a veteran of the United States Navy and served during World War II. Prior to his retirement, he was employed with Horizon Carpets in Calhoun, following many years in the textile industry. He was a member of American Legion Post #136 in Lindale and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include three daughters, Judy Layne, and her husband, Greg, Cedar Bluff, Ala., Patsy Johnson, and her husband, David, Chatsworth, and Donna Bates, and her husband, John, Cedar Bluff, Ala.; five sons, Larry Hand, and his wife, Vicki, Silver Creek, Danny Hand, Rome, David Hand, and his wife, Daphne, Calhoun, Barry Hand, Yorkville, and Gary Hand, Rome; a sister, Lethonie Richards, Canton; several grandchild­ren, great grandchild­ren, and great-great grandchild­ren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 9, 2018, at 3 p.m. at the graveside in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Jerry Brooks will officiate with the American Legion Post #5 Honor Guard extending military honors.

The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel,on Monday from 12:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m.

Timothy “Timmy” Robinson, age 58, of Rome, passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2018, in a local hospital.

Timmy was born Dec. 22, 1959 in Floyd County. He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Cribb, and a brother, Ricky Robinson.

Survivors include his daughters, Chasity Robinson, Rome; Tesha Robinson, Atlanta; Lacey Robinson, Rome; mother, Mildred Robinson, brother, Lynn Robinson, Rome; sisters, Debbie Ballard, Rome; Donna Robinson, Rome; Sue Robinson, Rome; Diane Carpenter, Rome; seven grandchild­ren, one great grandchild, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. Bob G. Lanier, M.D., age 79, of Cumming, Ga., went to be with our Lord on Good Friday, March 30, 2018, with his wife and friends Rachel and Joe Craymer by his side holding his hands and praying with him.

Bob was born in Collins, Georgia April 29, 1938 to Climie Buford and Kinie Lanier. He came into this world large and left a huge legacy behind. Bob loved hunting, golfing, fishing and all sports with his friends and family. He was a member and former Fleet Surgeon of the University Yacht Club. He was a member of the North Georgia Crappie Anglers Fishing Club and really enjoyed his Wednesday night card games with neighborho­od buddies. Bob loved his Savior, his family and friends with all his heart. He was a loving, caring and generous man.

Bob entered college at Emory at Oxford when he was 15, 1954-56. He completed his Medical Training at Medical College of Georgia 1958-62; Internship-U.S.P.H.S. Hospital, New Orleans, Louisiana 1962-63; Medical Residency-Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota 1965-67; and Rheumatolo­gy Fellowship­Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota 1967-69.

Bob loved his patients and never wanted to be away from them. After Bob’s illness he wanted to return to his practice and take care of all that needed him. He was an inspiratio­n to everyone with whom he came into contact.

He especially loved his children and grandchild­ren. He is survived by his wife Joan Rayburn Lanier and his children Hunter Lanier and his wife Marcy, Lynn Lanier, Jane Hill and her husband Fred and his adopted son and friend Kevin Schultz and his wife Patty along with his grandchild­ren Willow Lanier, Wolfe Lanier, Alexandra, Parker, William, Justin and Jackson Hill.

He was a member of the American Society of Internal Medicine, American Medical Associatio­n, Lupus Foundation and Georgia Society of Rheumatolo­gy. He was also on the Board of Directors of Alliant Health Solutions. Bob served as President of the Medical Associatio­n of Atlanta 1983-1984 and as President of the Medical Associatio­n of Georgia 1994-1995.

He was still in private practice in Cumming, Georgia. Bob lived a huge and exciting life. He gave God all the glory for his accomplish­ments and all the blessings the Lord had provided him. We know Bob is in Heaven talking politics with friends who arrived before him. We can see him fishing in beautiful blue waters with friends and family and already hosting a fish fry. He loved a good party.

We love you with all our hearts Bob. We know you have peace and comfort in your new home in Heaven. We will be with you when the Lord brings us home.

Bob’s service will be held Saturday, April 14, at 1 p.m. followed by a reception at First Baptist Church of Cumming, 1597 Sawnee Drive, Cumming, Ga., 30040.
