The Seven Hills Shaggers dance club will meet in the Red Room at Johnny’s New York Style Pizza, 233 Broad St., today at 7 p.m. Guests and visitors are welcome.

The Berry College Wind Ensemble will give their annual spring concert at 7:30 p.m. today at Ford Auditorium, Berry College, 2277 Martha Berry Highway. The free concert will feature a variety of works from different time periods.

An opening reception for the Jambalaya Art Show will be held Friday from 5-9 p.m. at Farrell’s Frame & Design, 116 Broad St. There will be live music by Peacock Jones and refreshmen­ts will be served. Local artists’ work will be on exhibit through May 5 when a closing reception will be held to coincide with the Downtown Saturday Art Walk. Both receptions are free and open to the public.

Third Friday Night Cruise-In will hold its antique and classic vehicle cruise-in Friday at 6 p.m. at the East Rome Burger King, 1323 Turner McCall Blvd. Admission is free. The event will include door prizes and a 50/50 drawing. Cruise-ins are held the third Friday of every month. For more informatio­n call Richard at 770-324-8965.

The Rome Area Council for the Arts will host the Firefly Fling on Friday at 7 p.m. at the Rome-Floyd County Library, 205 Riverside Parkway. The event features food, music and art. The Rome Area Council for the Arts will honor a local person or group who has been a champion for the arts in Rome with the annual Rome Arts Champion Award. The Shorter University Chorale will perform “Ein Deutsch Requiem op. 45” by Johannes Brahms on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in Brookes Chapel, Shorter University, 315 Shorter Ave. The concert is free and open to the public.

The Berry Singers will perform their Broadway showcase at 3 p.m. on Sunday in the Ford Auditorium, Berry College, 2277 Martha Berry Highway. The event is free and open to the public.

The Moon Gallery, Berry College, 2277 Martha Berry Highway, will host the Annual Student Honors Show April 23-May 4. The show features pieces made in the Berry College Art Program. Artist Pinky Bass will speak about her inspiratio­ns and announce student award winners at the opening ceremony at 11 a.m. on April 24. Bass’ work has been a part of many collection­s including the Philadelph­ia Museum of Art, Birmingham Museum of Art and the High Museum in Atlanta. She is also a frequent workshop leader at Penland School of Crafts and has had her work featured in a range of publicatio­ns including “Aperture,” “The Polaroid Book” and “The Book of Alternativ­e Processes.” Rome native Lauren Tutt will exhibit artwork inspired by her position as a garden assistant at Oak Hill April 30May 4. The Moon Gallery is open Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Entry is free and open to the public. For more informatio­n visit berry.edu.

The Friends of the Library are offering three silent auctions through May 5 at 4 p.m. Books about the natural world, birds and bird watching, including books about the eagles at Berry, and Christiani­ty, and a book written and signed by Billy Graham, are available.
