Brenda Lee Barnes Blackmon

Ms. Brenda Lee Barnes Blackmon, age 61, of Rome, passed away Friday, April 27, 2018, in a local hospital.

Ms. Blackmon was born in Rome, Ga. on January 11, 1957, daughter of the former Ophelia Oakes and the late William Olen Barnes. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Deborah Luellen, and by a brother, Rev. David L. Barnes. Ms. Blackmon was employed for over 17 years with Elbert Roberson’s Auto Collision here in Rome. Most recently, she was employed in security at Lowe’s Distributi­on in Shannon. She was a member of Dry Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Tabitha Chatman, and her husband, Corey, and Tonya Barnes, all of Rome; two stepdaught­ers, Carla Reece, and her husband, Joshua, Rome, and Melissa Dennis, and her husband, Vernon, South Carolina; her mother, Ophelia Barnes, Rome; two sisters, Janice Churchill, and her husband, Ed, Rome, and Linda Lackey, The Villages, Fla.; a brother, Jerry Barnes, and his wife, Judy, Rome; 19 grandchild­ren, 11 great grandchild­ren, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2018, at 4 p.m. in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel. Brother Tom Burnett will officiate.

The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Saturday from 3 until 4 p.m. At other hours, they may be contacted at the residence of a sister, Janice Churchill.

Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, has charge of the funeral arrangemen­ts.

Kristi Daniele Cagle

Miss Kristi Daniele Cagle, age 48, of Lindale, passed away Sunday morning, April 29, 2018, at a local hospital.

Miss Cagle was born in Rome, Ga. on March 6, 1970, daughter of Buddy Douglas Cagle and the former Teena Wills. Kristi graduated from Cedartown High School in 1989 at has attended the Highland Rivers Program in Cedartown. She attended First Baptist Church of Cedartown.

Survivors include her parents, Buddy and Doris Wheeler Cagle, Lindale; her biological mother, Teena Wills Cagle, Cedartown; aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with the Rev. Blake Terry officiatin­g. Interment will follow in New Prospect Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Monday from 5 until 7 p.m. At other hours, they may be contacted at the residence.

Pallbearer­s are requested to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. and include: Bill Gates, Jimmy Gates, Joe Harrell, J. R. Ingram, Chris Jones, and Eddie Hill.

Edward Shane Bryant

Mr. Edward Shane “Eddie” Bryant, age 55, of Lindale, passed away Saturday morning, April 28, 2018, in a local hospital.

Mr. Bryant was born in Torrance, Calif. on December 6, 1962, son of the late Charles Edward Bryant and the late Armanda Sue Garrett Bryant. He was a graduate of Pepperell High School in Lindale and was a member of Lindale Church of Christ. Prior to his becoming disabled, he was employed for several years with The Fairbanks Company in Rome. He had a passion for music. He was a self-taught guitar player and enjoyed playing with his friends and teaching others how to play.

Survivors include his sister, Kimberly Bryant, Tokyo, Japan; his close friend, Paulette Jordan, and her son, Jody, Silver Creek; aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with Minister Bill Brinkley officiatin­g. Interment will follow in Floyd Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Tuesday from 5 until 7 p.m.

Pallbearer­s are requested to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. and include: Shaun Garrett, Sean Maxwell, Shane Lindsey, Randy Blackston, Stephen Garrett, and Lee Mobbs.

May Pinkard

Ms. May Pinkard, age 87, passed away Thursday, April 26, 2018.

Services for Ms. Pinkard will be Tuesday, May 1, 2018, 12 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church, 399 Moran Lake Road, NE, Rome, Georgia. With Pastor Kenneth Woods preceding, there will not be a wake. She will lie in state from 11 a.m. until the hour of service. Interment will follow the service at East View Cemetery, 725 Kingston Ave NE, Rome, Georgia.

Wright Memorial Mortuary, Inc. has full charge of the services for Ms. May Pinkard.
