ARMUCHEE GRAD SPEAKS AT UNIVERSITY OF GEORGIA COLLEGE OF EDUCATION’S 2018 CONVOCATIO­N:

Emily Wallace, a 2014 graduate of Armuchee High School, delivers the student address at the University of Georgia College of Education’s 2018 Convocatio­n on May 3. Emily is graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communicat­ion Sciences and Disorders. Upon graduation, Emily will immediatel­y return to the University of Georgia where she has been accepted into the Graduate Program to complete a Masters Degree in Communicat­ion Sciences and Disorders. Emily is the daughter of Mark and Renee Wallace of Armuchee.

COOSA VALLEY FAIR ASSOCIATIO­N MAKES ITS ANNUAL DONATION TO FLOYD COUNTY SCHOOLS ART DEPARTMENT­S:

At last week’s Floyd County Board of Education meeting, past President and current Secretary of the Coosa Valley Fair Associatio­n Bryan Shealy presented a check for $1,900 to Floyd County Schools. This donation is used in the art department­s of all 19 Floyd County Schools. “This is just one of the many ways proceeds from the Coosa Valley Fair are put back into our community,” says current Coosa Valley Fair Associatio­n President Barbara Carter.
