The Rome-Floyd NAACP will hold their annual Freedom Fund Banquet on June 30 at 6:30 p.m. at the Rome First United Methodist Church Garnett M. Wilder Center, 202 E. Third Ave. Georgia NAACP President Phyllis Blake will be the guest speaker. The theme is “Women of Freedom.” Tickets are $35 for ages 13 and up, $15 for ages 12 and under or $280 for a table of eight. Tickets are available at Kroger, 1476 Turner McCall Blvd., from NAACP members or by phone at 706-204-4176.

The Ridge & Valley Storytelli­ng Guild will host A Time to Tell: A Time for Adult Storytelli­ng on July 2 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the Oostanaula Room at RomeFloyd County Library, 205 Riverside Parkway. Share a story or listen to others tell theirs. For more informatio­n email TerrellSha­w@me.com.

Howard Finster’s Paradise Garden, 200 N. Lewis St., Summervill­e, will host Paradise Garden Art Camp July 9-13. A morning session for ages 7-13 will be held from 9:30 a.m.-noon daily and an afternoon session for ages 10-13 will be held from 1–3:30 p.m. daily. Students will learn about the art of Howard Finster along with other artists and explore art fundamenta­ls through drawing, painting, mixed media and working with recycled objects. Each student leaves with 3 to 4 finished pieces. All supplies are included. Students bring their own snacks and drinks. A student art show will be held July 13 from 5-5:30 p.m. for students and their parents and friends. Cost is $75 for members, $90 for nonmembers.
